2020 Emergency Fund Information

As we continue to navigate this new normal, it can remind us of how life can change instantly.  We have gone from celebrating with our fellow friends, families, and members of our community, to maintaining our social distance and limiting our time out of our homes in order to flatten the curve. This unprecedented time has prevented us from practicing our Catholic faith as we have known it, especially during this Lenten season, and challenges us to prepare for that which lies ahead.

Our community is facing heavy burdens – parishes are experiencing a severe decline in offertory giving; schools are scrambling to use technology to teach online and are unsure of future enrollment that sustains them; Catholic organizations have had to cancel fundraising events that are vital to their survival and are serving an ever growing population with this crisis.

In solidarity with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, we at The Catholic Foundation, have decided to take immediate action. We have established the 2020 Emergency Catholic Community Fund to support those in need today. This fund will serve those parishes, schools and Catholic organizations who are facing financial distress due to the COVID-19 crisis.

All administrative fees will be waived on donations to this fund, allowing 100% of your contribution to support those who are most vulnerable within our Catholic community.

If you would like to support our efforts, we invite you to contribute to one of the giving options below:

Parishes – supports the parishes ability to continue essential operations, lay ministers who continue to nourish our faith, and the use of technology to celebrate mass and communicate with their Parishioners online.

Catholic Schools – supports schools who are making the necessary changes to teach our children remotely in order to maintain the social distance.

Community Organizations – supports food Pantries, homeless shelters, and Catholic organizations such as Catholic Charities and Good Shepherd Center.

Our role is to connect our generous donors with those in need within our Catholic community, especially now more then ever, your assistance is critical in helping those who are most vulnerable in our community during this crisis.

Thank you for answering our call to action and for your contribution to this collaborative effort.
