The Catholic Foundation is pleased to announce that applications for the year 2008 grants are currently being accepted. The following guidelines are intended to help grant applicants prepare an application that fits The Catholic Foundation’s requirements.
The Catholic Foundation is dedicated to serving the spiritual, social and educational needs of people in the Archdiocese of Santa Fe through grants to eligible organizations, schools, parishes and ministries. At this time, grants are expected to range in size from $2,000 to $7,000 each.
The Catholic Foundation follows an established procedure in making grants to ensure that equitable consideration is given to the needs and interests of the Catholic community, and grant monies are used for purposes consistent with Catholic social teaching and values.
The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible for a grant from The Catholic Foundation:
The Catholic Foundation will not accept applications for:
Grants to individuals (unless affiliated with and endorsed by a Catholic entity listed in the Official Catholic Directory of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe).
Programs whose primary purpose is tuition support.
Capital expenditures consisting of land, buildings or permanent fixtures, for which the total cost significantly exceeds The Catholic Foundation’s maximum grant amount. Applications for small capital expenditures will be accepted if the amount requested from The Catholic Foundation represents a significant portion of the total project cost, and the grant is intended to be fully spent before the end of the grant year.
General support or operating expenses. Salary expense may be considered, provided it is directly related to the program and does not extend beyond the 12-month grant period.
An eligible organization, school or parish may submit applications for more than one program a year. There is no limit on the number of consecutive years a program may be funded, but a new application must be submitted each year.
